Starting language early boosts ability to learn

Students in Europe (including Great Britain) usually start foreign languages younger than Americans, and they end up being able to pick up many other languages easily later in life.

The prime age for learning another language is about 7 years old, so we as a nation are doing our future generations a huge disservice by not teaching them foreign languages at a younger age and by encouraging them to take only one foreign language.
